Watertown, January 2007 — markField Design has launched an updated brand identity and corporate website for Heritage Partners, Inc. of Boston, MA. This new brand identity has been applied to all of Heritage's marketing communications materials both online and off.

About Heritage Partners, Inc.: In the mid 1980s, Heritage's founding Partners came to realize why Wall Street had never successfully focused its attention on family business issues. The reason involved the complexities of the needs expressed by owners of family businesses as well as their well-known aversion to outsiders, making the introduction of any new financial idea difficult.
The traditional solutions, created primarily for the public markets and the leveraged buyout industry and then simply applied to family businesses, have historically been imperfect because of their rigidity and terminal nature:
- a Public Offering may be premature or deemed undesirable because of the associated public scrutiny and the short term earnings expectations of analysts and public shareholders.
- an outright Sale entails losing the family firm.
- an ESOP is cumbersome and overly regulated.
- a Leveraged Recapitalization most often involves surrendering control and uses excessive debt, thereby limiting growth opportunities.
In view of the magnitude of the needs expressed by owners of family firms and the ineffectiveness of the traditional options available to them, the Partners decided in 1986 to dedicate their efforts to developing an all-encompassing solution to these issues. After extensive market research, they were struck by the similarity of owners' needs across the country. These revolved around three basic objectives: acquiring liquidity for their illiquid company stock while keeping the firm in family hands and yet simultaneously obtaining fresh equity in order to continue growing the business.
